As multiple knights, Liam Shannon’s strong baritone was impressive, making the most of brief appearances. - South Florida Classical review

Irish-American baritone Liam Shannon is quickly establishing himself as one of the most sought after singers in the New England region. Recent concert and operatic engagements include the baritone soloist in the Fauré Requiem in D minor with the Bennington County Choral Society, the Finzi Requiem da Camera with the Connecticut Chamber Choir, Albert in Massenet’s Werther, and Ping in Puccini’s Turandot. Other highlights include The Sacristan in Tosca, Minskman in Flight, and The Ferryman in Curlew River. He has participated as a young artist at the Utah Valley OperaFest (formerly Utah Valley Vocal Arts Academy) and the Miami Music Festival. As a performer, Liam is known for singing a variety of repertoire spanning from early music to musical theater, including contemporary works by composers such as Tom Cipullo, Jake Heggie, and Libby Larsen. Liam will be making appearances in the 2024-2025 season as King Melchior in Amahl and the Night Visitors, concerts with PanOpera, as well as covering Figaro with Opera In The Pines in their production of Il Barbiere di Siviglia, and performing as Marchese d’Obigny and covering Barone Douphol in Opera Vermont’s production of La Traviata.
Liam received his Masters of Music in Vocal Arts & Opera at the University of Southern California Flora L. Thornton School of Music in the studio of renowned voice teacher, Prof. Lynn Helding. He is also a graduate of Bennington College where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Voice in the studio of Prof. Thomas Bogdan.
